our impact
Blackandurban’s platform is based on the sole principle of Black ingenuity and creativity. However, we understand that systemic racism attempts to hinder us from striving as a collective. Therefore,we will work our hardest to make certain that Black lives will always be valued.
Blackandurban’s response to George Floyd’s injustice has been swift. By the time protests erupted, Blackandurban started to organize and mobilize.
Within the same week George Floyd died in Minneapolis’ police custody, Blackandurban began its online crowd-funding efforts, partnering with, The Editorial Nail, a Black woman-owned nail art business. Within 24 hours, Blackandurban has raised nearly $1,500.
How have we helped with the efforts? Blackandurban has successfully raised monetary donations to purchase items such as water, snacks, masks, and first-aid kits to aid vigil attendees and peaceful protesters throughout the NY/NJ area, or left the items with organizers for their discretion.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who have participated in our efforts!
Blackandurban is still looking for new ways to assist with forwarding the momentum.
